Q: My partner and I both work full time and we have three kids between us who are eight, 11, and 15. Summer is always complicated, with the older two splitting time between households, everyone wanting something different, and the fifteen-year-old firm in their opinions about what summer should look like. We want to do something meaningful as a family this year, possibly a road trip, camping, or even flying somewhere, though we're weighing the uncertainty around gas prices and flight cancellations. There's also a cabin through my partner's family that we've been invited to use.
