Kone’s Solid Campaign In The Saudi Pro League
Kone caught the eye at times with his performances at the centre of Neom’s midfield last season. The 21-year-old found the back of the net twice and secured one assist in 33 appearances for the Saudi outfit in the previous campaign across multiple competitions.
The Ivory Coast sensation is currently one of the most promising young midfielders in the Saudi Pro League. Therefore, the Black Cats would do well to get a deal done for him this off-season.
His current contract at Neom will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Sunderland to land Kone on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Should Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Go For Kone?
Kone loves a tackle and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team at the centre of the park. He doesn’t hesitate to clear the danger when required and is a tidy passer as well.
The Ivory Coast midfield ace can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his side. Kone is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or an attacking midfielder if needed. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Black Cats manage to snap him up this summer.
Kone would inject more bite and steel into Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris’ midfield. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Stadium of Light in the coming seasons.
At 21, Kone has got a bright future ahead of him and would be a great signing for the Black Cats in the long run. With all things considered, Le Bris would be wise to go for a midfielder of his potential in this summer transfer period.
