It's very unfortunate that Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby put himself in the position that he did, as the young man had a very bright future in football. First and foremost, the hope is that Sorsby gets everything figured out off the field, as that's much more important than anything he does on it.

He seems to be a good young man who might have just made a mistake, and hopefully, he learns from it. However, it's definitely going to have some impact on his draft status, as he's now likely to be taken in the supplemental draft.

The one question that will have to be answered is whether teams around the NFL are willing to give him a look, and one team in particular, the Cleveland Browns, could be the best potential fit for him.

Despite that reality, head coach Todd Monken suggested he doesn't plan to look at Sorsby, citing the fact that players who have done this in professional sports have been banned for life.

“I don’t think we’re in a position to want to go down that road,” Monken said of Sorsby, per the Browns. “I like the quarterbacks that we have and I think that’s a slippery slope when you go down that, irrespective of talent, right? In terms of the situation he’s put himself in, we all know what that is. He put himself in that situation. And we’ve seen in other sports with players that have been banned for life from playing in professional sports.”

This is the one problem that Sorsby is probably going to have to deal with, as there will be many questions from organizations about why he did what he did and whether it's still an issue.

I'd hate to see a young man miss out because of a mistake he made when he was this young, but it's sadly going to be a question he has to answer during the draft process.
