During his freshman season, Garcia posted a .338 batting average in 55 games. The California native came through with runners in scoring position by driving in 59 runs. He also showed a little bit of power with 26 extra-base hits, including 21 doubles.

When Garcia makes his Longhorns debut, he will still have three years of eligibility remaining. However, he will be able to enter the 2027 MLB Draft and is projected to be a first-round pick. That could benefit the Longhorns, as the Florida native will be more motivated than ever to put together a stellar season at the plate.

Coming out of high school, the newest Longhorn was one of the best players in his class. He was ranked as the No.34 shortstop and No.90 player overall by Perfect Game. During his time with the Red Raiders, Garcia was able to live up to the lofty expectations.

While Texas Tech has developed some good players, Garcia is joining a program that has been one of the best in the nation over the last two years. They have also excelled at developing inflieders which could have been a bug draw for Garcia. Now that Garcia's time in the transfer portal is over, he can focus on getting ready for his Longhorns career.
