Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In an unusual weather pattern this year, Madhya Pradesh is witnessing thunderstorms, rain and hailstorms during the Nautapa period instead of the intense heat and heatwave conditions usually associated with the season.

On the sixth day of Nautapa, rainfall was recorded in more than 20 districts across the state. Light drizzle was also reported in parts of Bhopal on Sunday morning.
Strong winds blew between 12:30 am and 3 am on Saturday night, leading to power outages in several areas.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhopal, heavy rain and hailstorm alerts have been issued for districts including Devas, Sehore, Rajgarh, Agar Malwa, Chhatarpur, Katni, Maihar, Umaria and Shahdol.
The remaining districts are also likely to experience thunderstorms, gusty winds and light rainfall. Wind speeds may reach 40 to 60 kmph.
Officials expect rain, thunderstorms and strong winds to continue in several parts of the state over the next few days.

Notably, no heatwave warning has been issued anywhere in the state. This is expected to be the first time in May this year that all districts of Madhya Pradesh remain free from severe heat conditions.
Weather systems have remained highly active over the past two days, bringing widespread rain across nearly half of the state.
Tikamgarh recorded around 1.25 inches of rainfall, while Datia and Nowgong also received significant showers. Rain was reported from several districts, including Gwalior, Indore, Dhar, Guna, Ratlam, Ujjain, Damoh, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Shivpuri, Dindori, Mandsaur, Khandwa, Dewas, Jhabua, Morena and Balaghat. Hailstorms were reported in Sheopur.
