Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown decided to deactivate his X account on Sunday.

The move came ahead of the June 1 deadline, which has been the pointed timeline for the expected trade between the Eagles and New England Patriots for the three-time All-Pro receiver. Waiting until June 1 allows the Eagles to avoid a dead cap charge that would run north of $40 million.
If the trade goes through, it would reunite Brown with his former head coach, Mike Vrabel, who drafted Brown during his time with the Tennessee Titans. Brown was ultimately traded to the Eagles in 2022. He helped the team win a Super Bowl during his run in Philly, and he never had fewer than 1,000 yards receiving during his tenure.
Now, he could be on the verge of joining Vrabel in New England to catch passes from third-year quarterback Drake Maye, the 2025 runner-up for NFL MVP. A move of that caliber would put the proverbial cherry on top of what has been a productive offseason for the Patriots.
