Indiana fans grade Darian DeVries’ offseason transfer portal haul

Indiana men’s basketball’s first season under head coach Darian DeVries ended in disappointment when the Hoosiers were left out of the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday. Worse yet, most members of the roster had either exhausted their eligibility or entered the transfer portal.

The Hoosiers were facing another rebuild and DeVries entered the offseason looking to address his program’s shortcomings in year one through the portal. He ended up landing size in the frontcourt, more athleticism, proven high-major production and each of Indiana’s signings likely has eligibility remaining beyond the 2026-27 season.
Last week, we asked Indiana fans to grade DeVries’ portal haul in our Reacts survey. Fans responded in kind, handing out high marks to the Hoosiers’ staff for their work this past offseason:
Fans were overwhelmingly pleased with DeVries’ portal signings with over half giving his class an A and just a combined 5% giving it a C or lower.
