Indiana football picked up a 2027 commitment from four-star defensive end Myles Smith on Thursday.
Smith, who attends Farmington High School in Michigan, is currently the highest-rated recruit in IU's class, ranked No. 246 overall. He had 22 scholarship offers, including ones from Oklahoma, Michigan, Missouri and Kentucky.

The defensive end took an official visit to Bloomington in May and is the first defensive lineman to commit to the Hoosiers during this recruiting cycle.
Indiana's coaching staff has prioritized building up depth on the defensive line in recent signing classes, with 11 signees over the last two seasons. The Hoosiers also added a handful of potential impact transfers up front, including a pair of talented defensive ends from Kansas State, Chiddi Obiazor and Tobi Osunsanmi.
The Hoosiers led the FBS in tackles for loss last year (129) and had the second-most sacks in the country (46).
"I think that position is talented and has a chance to really be a winning edge for us," IU coach Curt Cignetti said Wednesday.
