What could Kelly Oubre Jr. deal look like in upcoming free agency?

When free agency rolls around on June 30, the Philadelphia 76ers will have some decisions to make. Of course, they will be looking to improve the roster, but they also have to decide what they will do with their own free agents.

For example, what should the Sixers do with Kelly Oubre Jr.? The 11-year veteran did some great things for Philadelphia in the 2025-26 season as he shot a career-high 36% from deep and averaged 14.1 points and 5.0 rebounds while also providing some top-notch defense on the other end of the floor.

With that being said, what does a potential Oubre deal look like? ESPN's Bobby Marks put an idea out like this:

Three years, $40.5 million. A $13 million average salary is still below starter level, but Oubre would double his earnings from last season. The final season of the deal has a player option.

In terms of what the Sixers have to play with in free agency, they have the non-taxpayer midlevel exception, which is at roughly $15 million along with the biannual exception of $5.5 million. It remains to be seen what Philadelphia will do in the offseason as it has to find a new head of basketball operations. Then, the team can move forward with summer plans.

Either way, Oubre has done a fantastic job in Philadelphia and should be at the top of the offseason priority board for the Sixers. He is an important piece to any winning team due to his versatility and ability to do it all. He has a will to win and the Sixers should look into keeping him around.
