Ja'Kobi Lane completes the Baltimore Ravens' receiver room
· Yahoo Sports
For Lamar Jackson's entire career, the Baltimore Ravens have struggled to put the right pieces around him. Lamar has had his own struggles in the playoffs, but as a whole, this offense has not been good enough to get the job done. The hope is that this year will be different with new acquisitions such as USC's Ja'Kobi Lane.
The Ravens, for quite some time, have been searching for a special type of receiver who would help take Lamar Jackson's game to the next level. Lamar has still been highly successful without a star-studded receiver room, but if he had a weapon that he could just throw up to in the end zone with full trust, that would be a game-changer. Isaiah Likely showed flashes of being that, but with Mark Andrews in the room, that kind of hindered what he could be. The Ravens may have finally found that this offseason.

Ja'Kobi Lane is as elite as it gets at making highlight-reel catches and coming down with 50-50 balls. In his tenure at USC, it seemed like he was making a new unbelievable catch every week. He slots in as the perfect fit in the Ravens offense as currently constructed. Everything that makes Lane so special fits in perfectly with what Lamar Jackson has needed.
The Ravens' current receiver room has Zay Flowers, who is a top 15 receiver in the league, but he is a smaller weapon and mostly a slot threat. Rashod Bateman is a serious deep threat who can make the big plays, and he is a tad bigger than Flowers. Jakobi Lane slots as the perfect mixture of them both, but also the right archetype for being an outside threat receiver. When you slot in Mark Andrews as the security blanket and reliable tight end, Lamar now has it all.
