As the Philadelphia 76ers’ season came to an end after a four-game sweep at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs in the Eastern Conference semifinals, the organization has begun to look towards the offseason and the many decisions they’ll have to make.

One of those decisions will be what to do with the 22nd pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, which they got in their trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder at the trade deadline earlier in the year, which was the move that sent Jared McCain to the Western Conference contenders.

In recent weeks, various publications have started to do their own mock drafts for the upcoming class, and in a recent selection by CBS Sports’ Adam Finkelstein, the Sixers are slated to pick up Koa Peat.

Who is Koa Peat?

Peat is a 19-year-old from the University of Arizona, standing at a respectable 6-foot-7-inches, finishing his freshman year with the Wildcats, averaging 14.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

One notable factor of Peat’s game is that he doesn’t shy away from the big games, but rather relishes performing in them, averaging 17.2 points and 7.6 rebounds in Arizona’s journey to the semifinals of March Madness, losing to the eventual tournament winners, the Michigan Wolverines.

While Finkelstein’s board slots Peat in at a power forward, given his height and three-point shooting ability, he could easily slot into a small forward spot. This could provide Philadelphia with a solution for the potential exit of Kelly Oubre Jr, who is slotted to become a free agent as his contract in the City of Brotherly Love expires at the end of the season.

The 2026 NBA draft is slated to take place on June 23rd from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
