Sunday's Indy 500 race was one for the ages. For David Malukas, however, it left a bitter taste in his mouth.

In just his fourth race at the Brickyard, the 24-year-old's result was the best of his career: second place. However, he was less than half a car length away from lifting his first-ever Borg-Wagner Trophy and chugging milk with his racing team.

Malukas has now finished second in back-to-back races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is a tough pill to swallow despite the achievement. He was on the wrong end of the closest finish in Indy 500 history, and he will have to wait around 365 days to have another go at the elusive trophy.

Here's what the young driver said after losing by just 0.0233 seconds to Felix Rosenqvist.
