MHS enters the state tournament coming off a strong showing at the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet, where the Kernels earned a third-place team finish. The Kernels also return with momentum after placing sixth at last season's state tournament, the program's best finish since 2022, and will look to improve upon that mark with a balanced lineup throughout both singles and doubles play.

Leading the way for Mitchell in singles competition is senior Matthew Mauszycki in Flight 1. Mauszycki enters the tournament as the No. 11 seed with a 10-13 singles record this season.

In Flight 2 singles, junior Asher Dannenbring earned the No. 9 seed after posting an 8-9 singles mark despite missing time earlier this season due to injury. In Flight 3, sophomore Cooper Star comes into state as the No. 6 seed with a 15-8 singles record this season.

The Kernels also feature another strong seed in Flight 4 with senior Dawson Adams. Adams earned the No. 5 seed after compiling an 18-6 singles record during the regular season. In Flight 5, sophomore Simon Wiese enters as one of Mitchell's top contenders. Wiese holds the No. 4 seed with an 18-6 singles record.

Rounding out singles play for the Kernels is Flight 6 junior Dayton Adams, who carries Mitchell's highest individual seed into the tournament. Adams earned the No. 3 seed after putting together a 9-1 singles season, highlighted by capturing an ESD Conference bracket title on May 12.

In doubles action, the top-seeded Mitchell duo comes in Flight 3, where Dayton Adams and Wiese enter as the No. 3 overall seed. The duo has posted a 9-1 doubles record this season. In Flight 2, Dawson Adams and Dannenbring earned the No. 6 seed after compiling an 11-6 record together this season. MHS' Flight 1 doubles tandem of Mauszycki and Star holds the No. 8 seed with a 13-10 record.
