2 people dead after 'multiple' gunshots reported in Woodbridge

Two people are dead after a Wednesday evening shooting in a quiet residential area of Woodbridge.

York Regional Police said they responded to reports of shots fired outside of a residence on Kaiser Dr., near Langstaff Rd. and Kipling Ave., in the west-end Vaughan neighbourhood at 5:30 p.m.
Police said they found two victims suffering from “multiple” gunshot wounds who were pronounced dead at the scene.
“Homicide investigators have been engaged,” York police said in a post on social media. “A large police presence will be in the area for some time, please avoid the area.”

Witness reportedly heard flurry of gunshots
No suspect descriptions were immediately available. Police had yet to offer details about what preceded the shootings as well.
An email seeing additional information from York police, including the age and gender of the victims, was not immediately returned. Cops, however, said on social media that they would provide an update later in the night .
A witness told CP24 that they heard a gunshot and then, after a pause, “ four, five, six in a row kinda just out of nowhere.”

The shooting was reported about an hour after cops in Peel Region responded to a gunfire incident in Brampton that left a male victim with serious injuries.

Peel Regional Police said they responded to a shooting in the Lambeth St. and Lancewood Cres. area of that city – about a half-hour drive from the scene of the Woodbridge shooting – at about 4:30 p.m. and that a male was found with gunshot wounds before being rushed to a trauma centre.

While serious, they said the extent of the victim’s injuries was unknown.
No suspect information was available, although police said it appeared to be an isolated incident.
They asked people to avoid the area during the investigation.
