Child hospitalized, woman arrested after incident in Scarborough

A child has been sent to hospital and a woman was arrested after an incident in Scarborough on Tuesday morning, Toronto Police say.
Police say they responded to a call at a home on Port Royal Trail, in the area of Midland Ave. and Steeles Ave. E., just after 9:30 a.m.

A child was found and transferred to hospital, where they remain, police media relations officer Const. Stephanie Miceli told CP24 . The child’s current condition is unknown.
A woman was arrested at the scene in relation to the incident, with charges pending. Reports not confirmed by the Toronto Sun said the woman is the child’s mother and the child is a toddler.
Police presence still surrounds the home where the child was found. No further information was released.
