Browns RB Quinshon Judkins makes big, familiar move ahead of year-two

Cleveland Browns starting running back, Quinshon Judkins is making a huge move entering his second season in the NFL.

Going back to his college number, Judkins is switching from 10 to 1 for the Browns this season. This number was last worn by cornerback Martin Emerson Jr., who never wore it in a game after suffering an injury in the offseason. The last player to suit up in the number 1 on gameday was former free-agent add and safety Juan Thornhill, who quickly became a villain in Cleveland and was released after just two years with the team.

Former head coach Kevin Stefanski had a weird rule as well, where he would not let rookies wear single-digit numbers unless they were a quarterback or a specialist. Judkins has become the second second-year player to switch to a single-digit number this offseason, after wide receiver Isaiah Bond took No. 0 as well.

Many saw this potential number change coming from Judkins after rookie linebacker Justin Jefferson was assigned the number 10. Back in his old number, back to his old self as he recovers from a lower-body injury? The Browns sure hope so.
