Is Joe Mazzulla's playoff record a concern for the Boston Celtics?

Despite holding a 3-1 series lead, the Boston Celtics got an early start on their offseason following a game seven defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers. The loss came at the TD Garden, making it the third home game the Celtics lost during the series, as their struggles on their home court continue to be an issue.

To make matters worse, this was the third time in four years that a Joe Mazzulla-led roster crashed out of the postseason despite being favorites heading into a matchup. Boston lost to the Miami Heat during Mazzulla's rookie year, fell to the New York Knicks in 2025, and now the Sixers in 2026.

During a recent discussion on 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Felger and Mazz" show, Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti discussed Boston's unflattering record under Mazzulla. They debated whether the championship run helped paper over some of the team's tough postseason losses in recent years while also sharing their thoughts on the current roster and Mazzulla's production as head coach.
