Bayern Munich rule out move for Man Utd attacker

Bayern Munich are not interested in signing Marcus Rashford in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old joined Barcelona last summer on loan from Manchester United, and has been a useful addition for Hansi Flick’s side.

The Catalan giants have an option to sign Rashford permanently for £26m, but they are not willing to pay that amount.

Are Bayern Munich interested in Marcus Rashford?

Bayern are heavily interested in signing Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon in the summer, but he will come on the cheap.

Gordon, who would cost around £80m, has a German agent who met with Max Eberl, Bayern’s head of sport, for the first round of talks.

Rashford has been linked with Bayern Munich as a cheaper alternative for Gordon, but Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that the Bavarian giants are not keen on signing him.

Falk said: “It is NOT TRUE: Bayern could turn their attention to Marcus Rashford if a deal for Anthony Gordon falls through. FC Bayern have a list of options – it’s not just Gordon. He is the player they would like to have. However, Rashford is not on this list.”

What does the future holds for Marcus Rashford?

Rashford, a product of the club’s academy, fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim, and his future  could lie away from Old Trafford.

However, Michael Carrick has done a brilliant job since taking charge, and has secured Champions League spot after two years of absence.

Carrick has recently suggested that no decision has been taken on Rashford over his future, hinting that the attacker likely to have a future at the club next season.

Bayern are looking for a versatile attacker who can play on either flanks as also as a striker, and while Rashford fits the bills, he is not in their list of targets.
