What the Ravens are getting:
Ioane is the best pure guard in the class. He’s a complete package with a road grader mentality and pass pro chops to be an effective obstacle between him and his quarterback. Ioane uses rock-solid fundamentals to strike powerfully into the chest of his opponent before running them on tracks out of the party. He may not have the ideal movement traits to be scheme-independent, but his floor is the highest by far among his peers in this draft class.
Strengths
- Deducing stunts and twists comes natural to him
- Passes off stunts with force
- Forklifts interior defenders and keeps them on their heels
- Top-tier core strength to strain and move even the sturdiest defenders
Weakness
- Did not test at NFL Combine and explosive numbers were sup-par
- Struggles to make adjustments to moving defenders in space
- More explosive interior defenders can beat him off the line and get into his chest
