Makenna Best, Brookfield Academy softball

The sophomore threw a five-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 victory for the Blue Knights against Catholic Central this past week. Best struck out nine hitters inside the circle and also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a single and a double.

Caleb Johns, New Berlin Eisenhower baseball

Despite a 5-4 loss to Brookfield East during a rain-filled week around the area, Johns had a monster day at the dish for the defending state champion Lions. He hit a pair of home runs, added a sacrifice fly and tallied four runs batted in against the Spartans.

Monty O'Brien, Wauwatosa East baseball

The Red Raiders swept a two-game series with Brookfield Central with O'Brien providing a spark. He returned from an injury to drill a go-ahead single in the fifth inning of Tosa East's 8-4 victory April 13 and struck out 10 on the bump in a rain-shortened 8-0 victory for the Red Raiders the next day.

Gavin Reilly, Mukwonago baseball

The junior went 8-for-14 at the plate, driving in 10 runs and scoring five across a 3-1 week for Mukwonago. He also pitched four scoreless innings in a 14-4 win over Union Grove on April 18.

Maricella Rivera, Pius XI Catholic girls soccer

The junior was a one-woman wrecking crew April 14 against Racine St. Catherine’s, scoring all eight goals in an 8-0 victory for the Popes.
