The New York Mets free fall continues, as the losing streak hits 11 straight games. The Mets have now lost four straight series and have been outscored 65-23 by their opponents.
Given the landslide since winning on April 7 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza has no real answers on how to turn things around.

"11 losses, that's a lot, whether it's in April or at any point in the season,” Mendoza said after the game to SNY. “Nobody's going to feel sorry for us. We've got to find a way. Off day tomorrow and back at it on Tuesday.”
The Mets' offense this season is one of the worst in baseball, as they’re 23rd in team batting average (.223) and second-to-last in OPS (.624). The pitching staff has been slightly better, as they’re in the middle of the pack in ERA (17th, 4.06) and 12th in WHIP (1.28).

In his third season as the Mets manager (179-166), Mendoza made a change to his pitching staff on Sunday to try to find a spark. Mendoza opted to start right-hander Tobias Myers instead of left-hander David Peterson, who has struggled.
Myers threw two scoreless innings to open the game, with Peterson pitching 3.2 scoreless innings in relief. Having an off day to reset before playing a three-game series with the Minnesota Twins, the Mets must right the ship before things get away from them.
