NFL analyst sees a potential Titans-Cowboys trade on the horizon

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi met with the media on Thursday and talked about a lot of different topics surrounding next week's NFL draft, and honestly, unless you can truly read tea leaves, nothing new really came out.

Borgonzi talked about many of the top prospects, highlighted the quality throughout the draft, and even touched on the potential of trading back if the right opportunity presented itself. Ironically, that is exactly what Dan Parr sees happening in an NFL.com piece on trades that could shake up the draft.

Cowboys vault to No. 4 for rare athlete

The Cowboys' defense cratered in the first year of the post-Micah Parsons era, allowing the most points (30.1) and passing yards per game (251.5) in the NFL last season. With two picks in the first round this year -- including one (No. 20 overall) that came from the Packers in the Parsons trade -- it’s time to be aggressive in rebuilding a once-proud unit. I’d like to see Dallas trade all the way up to No. 4 -- the Titans are willing to move down, at least in this exercise -- to get in front of the division-rival Giants and land a new franchise cornerstone in uber-athletic linebacker Sonny Styles, who is drawing comparisons to Pro Football Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher. The price will undoubtedly be steep, but sitting back and waiting at No. 12 could prove costly in its own way, too.

This potential trade has been floating around social media for a few days, and Borgonzi did not make it seem like a move is completely out of the question. There is no doubt that the Titans could use some extra ammunition on both sides of the ball, and from a team-building standpoint, that does make sense.

Now, all everyone can do is wait for the draft to kick off in six days from Pittsburgh.
