Iowa women's basketball fans react to Emely Rodriguez transfer portal news
· Yahoo Sports
On Monday afternoon, Iowa women's basketball saw its fifth player head into the NCAA's transfer portal, as sophomore Emely Rodriguez ventured into the portal for the second time in as many years.
Though Rodriguez's on-court play was helpful to the Hawkeyes early last season, the 6-foot wing from the Dominican Republic played only six games for the program due to a lingering back injury and a reported suspension. In those six games played, Rodriguez averaged 7.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 42.5% field goal shooting, 14.3% 3-point shooting, and 80% free-throw shooting.

While Rodriguez could withdraw her decision to enter the transfer portal and return to the Hawkeyes, many Iowa fans have begun expressing their opinions on social media regarding the news.

Saw that coming. Never smiled on the bench. I knew she was fine months ago. I wish her the best of luck. Sometimes it’s bad luck (injuries) and sometimes it’s not a good fit. Hope she finds a good fit for her and has a good year next year

An example of the absolute worst of the transfer portal era.

Doesn’t play well and makes some horrible in game decisions which translates to not as much playing time as she expects so just quits on the team to take a medical redshirt before the 10 game mark

All these Iowa fans made fun of Iowa State when they saw a mass exodus of players. Now Iowa has to fill at LEAST 7 roster spots. I called this month's ago.
