Carlos Ulberg sees Jiri Prochazka UFC 327 matchup as 'chaos vs. order'

· Yahoo Sports

Carlos Ulberg's mission at UFC 327 is not to fall into Jiri Prochazka's world of chaos.

It's a simple approach, but one many have failed to execute, becoming victims of Prochazka's violent ways. Ulberg (13-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) and Prochazka (32-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) clash April 11 in the main event of UFC 327 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Fla. It's a bout that will determine who takes the vacant UFC light heavyweight title.

Ulberg intends to walk out of the arena with 12 pounds of gold, and to do that, he must bring order to the octagon.

"Jiri is obviously the chaotic fighter," Ulberg told MMA Junkie. "Chaos vs. order, is what it is. Yeah, that's what that fight is. So it's a fight that's always been due to happen, and we're here now, so this is it, and we've been preparing for years for this fight. I think we've always been watching Jiri on this come-up, and I've always been keeping an eye on a lot of the guys that I could potentially fight. I have fought some of the guys already in Jan and some of the other fighters, Reyes recently, so now it's just um Jiri to take out. Then after that, we've got some other fights that we need to look forward to."

So far, the only man who's been able to defeat Prochazka in the UFC has been Alex Pereira, who vacated the UFC light heavyweight title to fight Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt at UFC Freedom Fights in June. Everyone else has come up short against the Polish fighter.

Ulberg acknowledges that Pereira's recipe for success, but he plans to bring his own at UFC 327, and show the MMA world a different look at figuring out Prochazka.

"Yeah, Pereira has done a great job in nullifying his chaotic spurs, but there are a lot of other avenues that I think other fighters haven't yet explored that we can work with," Ulberg said. "So, yeah, and I think that's something that we're going to be going with for our fight."

Ulberg's plan to take out Prochazka is just business. There's nothing personal in the matter; it's just him accomplishing his dream of becoming UFC champion.

"I don't have any bad blood against anybody outside the octagon," Ulberg explained. "But when we're in the octagon, it's a different story. So, yeah, I mean, I've just been following anyone that I could be potentially fighting. And I do know his background and, you know, his demeanor and his personality. So everybody's different. Everybody's different. And I don't take anything from that as a person or as a personality. It is the UFC. So he's done a great job."
