Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A strong weather system is currently active over Madhya Pradesh, causing thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms over the past 72 hours.

A rain, thunderstorm, and hail alert has been issued for Madhya Pradesh on April 2, with several districts expected to witness changing weather conditions.
Hailstorms are likely in districts such as Jhabua, Barwani, Dhar, Burhanpur, and Khandwa, mainly in the western and southwestern parts of the state. These areas may experience intense weather activity along with strong winds.
What do meteorologists say?
According to the weather department, strong winds will also impact many areas. Wind speeds in districts like Chhindwara, Seoni, and Pandhurna may reach 40–50 km/h. In other districts, winds are likely to blow at 30 - 40 km/h.
Rain is expected in the next 24 hours in several districts, including Gwalior, Ujjain, Morena, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Alirajpur, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Khargone, Dewas, and Shajapur.
The current weather is due to an active cyclonic circulation and a trough over the state. Additionally, two more cyclonic systems are affecting the northwestern parts of the region, leading to unstable weather.
Similar weather conditions are expected to continue into early April. A western disturbance is likely to become active from April 7, which may bring more rain and storms until April 10. After that, the system will weaken, and temperatures are expected to rise, bringing intense heat in the second week of April.
On Wednesday, Bhopal received rain with thunder and lightning, while hailstorms were reported in Sehore. Many districts, including Indore, Ujjain, Khandwa, Jabalpur, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Raisen, Vidisha, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Khargone, Barwani, Shajapur, and Balaghat, also saw changing weather conditions.
