· Yahoo Sports

PHOENIX - Currently, the Patriots receiver room is the same as last year, with one notable exception.

Stefon Diggs is out. Romeo Doubs is in.

A.J. Brown, meanwhile, is still TBD, but that hasn’t dampened Mike Vrabel’s outlook.

Asked Tuesday if he liked his wide receiver room, the Patriots coach praised the unit.

While he agreed Diggs production (85 catches, 1,085 yards, 4 TDs) would have to be replaced, along with his “efficiency” with an 83% catch rate, he sounded confident with the group.

He likes free agent addition Doubs, and the consistency he brings to the table.

“Certainly we targeted Romeo with the consistency that he’s had and shown in his first four years in the NFL,” Vrabel said. “And I think he’s gotten better. I think he’s improved each and every year.”

Vrabel also made note of Kayshon Boutte, Demario “Pop” Douglas and Kyle Williams.

“I think Pop is a player that’s going to really continue to grow and develop, and we have to find ways to get him the ball,” Vrabel said. “Kyle (Willliams), really excited. We talked about him just improving his play strength, and that’s something that he’s trying to focus on here in the offseason.

“We know what his speed is and his release skills, and the ability to, you know, we saw him go and track the ball down the field. So, there’s a lot of guys that we’re excited about.”
