Knappa ousts baseball coach after rough start

The tenure as Knappa baseball coach was short for Trevor Oja.
After being hired as the new Loggers baseball coach for 2026, he was immediately fired after the team got off to an uncharacteristic slow start. This included a 21-2 thrashing at the hands of Ilwaco High School last Friday.

Principal Paul Isom said the decision was a mutual one and assistant coach Tim Miller will take over the program for the remainder of the baseball season.
The Knappa School District issued the following statement about the decision.
“The district and the head baseball coach have mutually agreed to part ways. We recognize the time and dedication that has been given to the program by Coach Oja and thank him for that.
“For the remainder of the season, Tim Miller will serve as our head baseball coach. Coach Miller is committed to providing a positive experience for our players and ensuring continuity within the program.
“Our focus remains on supporting our student-athletes and providing a safe, respectful, and competitive environment.”
