A familiar face is getting his chance to lead a pro offense.
According to James Larsen of Pro Football Newsroom, the United Football League's Orlando Storm has named Jack Plummer as their starting quarterback for the 2026 campaign. The 26-year-old passer, who beat out former fifth-round NFL draft pick Dorian Thompson-Robinson for the job, spent 2024 and parts of 2025 with the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers signed Plummer, a third-team All-ACC selection out of the University of Louisville, following the 2024 NFL Draft. He'd go on to appear in six preseason outings over Carolina's last two summers—completing 66 of his 106 of his throws (68.6 percent) for 616 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Plummer is among a handful of former Panthers quarterbacks who are currently rostered in the UFL. Others include Matt Corral (Birmingham Stallions), Bryce Perkins (Michigan Panthers) and Jordan Ta'amu (DC Defenders).
Orlando will kick off its season this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET against the Columbus Aviators.
