Arman Tsarukyan is reheating the conversation about a drop to the featherweight division after UFC Fight Night 270.

Saturday's headliner at The O2 in London was meant to produce the next challenger for 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski. The end result saw Movsar Evloev (20-0 MMA, 10-0 UFC) defeat Lerone Murphy by majority decision to stay undefeated and stake his claim at the belt, but UFC CEO Dana White was noncommittal about his shot post-fight.

That raised an eyebrow for Tsarukyan (23-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC), who has previously teased a potential move down in weight class if it meant a faster path to a UFC belt. With the door for Volkanovski's next fight seemingly somewhat open, Tsarukyan has thrown has name back in the hat (via Threads):

Tsarukyan, No. 2 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie lightweight rankings, has been searching for his next career move after be stifled from a championship opportunity in his weight class.

The 29-year-old had previously expressed a willingness to move down, but Volkanovski was skeptical about it and whether he would be deserving of an immediate chance at gold.
