Head coach Greg Gard opted not to use his final foul to give, but the Wolverines didn't use their final timeout either. With the game tied at 65, Michigan drilled a game winning three with just 0.4 seconds left that eliminated the Badgers from the B1G Tournament.

Wisconsin, as it tends to do every year, exceeded all expectations. The team knocked off Illinois in overtime and was three points away from going to the B1G Championship. Heading into Selection Sunday, there's plenty to celebrate. Here are three takeaways from the team’s conference tournament run.

1. Nolan Winter Will Be Back

Three-pointers kept Wisconsin alive against the conference's top team, but things will go much different come the Round of 64 and games to follow.

Winter, who averages 13.3 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game, was listed as questionable prior to the Big Ten semifinals. The team opted to rest him again, which was the right move, but they know he'll be back in time for the NCAA Tournament.

2. John Blackwell Must Avoid Foul Trouble

Wisconsin's junior guard got himself into foul trouble in both the Illinois and Michigan games. The referees were calling everything in the Fighting Illini game but somehow Blackwell managed to play the final stretch with four fouls.

Gard had to sit Blackwell towards the end of the first half against Michigan, as fouls were again getting the best of him. Wisconsin is at its best when he's on the court, so he needs to avoid this recent stretch of three or more fouls in his last four games.

3. Michigan Would've Blown Out Wisconsin If Not For Austin Rapp

Rapp finished the Michigan game 6-10 from three-point range but he made five in a row that had the United Center unglued. The Wolverines were well on their way to a dominant victory, but the Melbourne native single-handedly kept Wisconsin alive.

Wisconsin's opponents tend to focus on Blackwell and Nick Boyd, as they should, but Rapp proved anyone can get hot on any given night and that's an extremely dangerous trait to have going into March Madness.
