GLENS FALLS - Even in the midst of making an assault on the all-time Section 2 boys' basketball scoring list, Hudson senior point guard Keith Robinson entered Thursday's Class A boys' basketball semifinal showdown with only one objective: put the Bluehawks in position to win the program's first sectional title in 10 years Saturday.

Robinson did it all against Averill Park as he finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in leading top-seeded Hudson to a 62-49 decision over the fourth-seeded Golden Knights at Harding Mazzotti Arena.

Robinson, who surpassed Lake George's Joel Wincowski for the No. 3 position on the area's all-time boys' basketball scoring list in the first quarter, understands the magnitude of reaching the final far more than he did as a spectator in 2016.

"I was with my sister in the stands watching the game, but I was so young I didn't really understand. I had a love for the game and how hyped they were at Hudson," Robinson said. "I knew that one year and one day, I would be on this stage and I am doing what I can to get us to the 'chip.'… Today is a great moment. We live to see another day."

The two teams went back and forth through the first half. Averill Park ended up going into intermission leading 35-34. The Golden Knights built the lead to 41-36, but Robinson drained a 3-pointer to provide Hudson a 46-44 edge entering the fourth quarter.

Hudson (20-2), ranked No. 11 in the state, elevated its defensive intensity down the stretch and limited the Golden Knights to 5-for-19 shooting in the second half.

Key moment

The Bluehawks led 48-46 early in the fourth quarter and proceeded to go on a 10-0 surge, where Robinson helped cap the run with two assists that set up baskets for teammate Gannon Logue.

Averill Park only made one basket over the six minutes and it came in the final minute with the outcome already decided.

Star of the game

Robinson, who leads Section 2 in scoring this season, surpassed the 30-point plateau for the 14th time this season. The senior star scored 20 points in the first half and tallied five of his six assists during the second half.

"I can believe it. This is definitely one of our goals since the first day of practice," Robinson said. "We knew we had a good team to go for the 'chip' and it is everyone's dream to win a 'chip.' Now, we have to finish the job."
