Thoroughbreds waded their way through the red, white and blue-clad obstacle course in a decidedly slower pace to the opening two races of the Cup Series calendar. The lower speeds did little to quell the competition, with road course standouts Shane van Gisbergen, Tyler Reddick, Michael McDowell and more finding success across the contest.
Only one driver could end the day in victory lane, though. In the end, it was a familiar name who rose to the front of the field. His display should strike fear in his competitors going forward.
With that, here's what you need to know about the results from Sunday's DuraMAX Texas Grand Prix in Austin.
Who won the NASCAR race today?
Tyler Reddick stormed to the checkered flag on Sunday, outgunning all comers to pick up his third-straight win. With his victory, Reddick became the first Cup Series driver to open the season with three consecutive wins.
The 23XI Racing star started the day on the front row, having put forth another impressive display in qualifying. He surged to the front during the second stage before fending off his adversaries to collect yet another gemstone in his belt. Reddick has long been considered one of NASCAR's finest road course drivers. He proved that reputation was richly-deserved on Sunday evening.
Tyler Reddick historic streak
With his victory on Sunday, Reddick became the first driver to claim three straight wins to start the season. He was chuffed at the accomplishment, relishing in the accolade as he fielded questions following his latest triumph.
"It means the world," Reddick said.
Who does Tyler Reddick drive for?
Reddick stars for 23XI Racing, a Cup Series powerhouse co-owned by Michael Jordan, Denny Hamlin and Curtis Polk.
The brainchild of Jordan and co-owners Denny Hamlin and Curtis Polk, 23XI debuted in 2021, with Jordan and Hamlin enlisting Wallace -- the field's only Black driver -- to man its cockpit. Wallace was outfitted in the No. 23 car, a reference to Jordan's famous number. Reddick and Herbst also sport numbers significant to Jordan, with the former rocking No. 45 (the number Jordan wore upon his return to the NBA) and the latter draped in a No. 35 paint scheme -- a reference to Jordan's minor league career.
Under Jordan and Hamlin's stewardship, 23XI Racing has become one of NASCAR's finest sides. Wallace and Reddick are perennial postseason contenders, having combined to capture nine wins under the 23XI banner. Reddick was the regular-season champion in 2024 and earned a spot in that year's Championship 4.
Michael Jordan on Tyler Reddick winning streak
Jordan was in a celebratory mood following Reddick's latest victory. Speaking with Fox upon the conclusion to the contest, Jordan praised his driver for making adjustments following a dour 2025 season that saw Reddick fail to win a race.

"It's time for change. Time for change," Jordan said. "And the guys feel the same thing. And Tyler came in with the most pressure. I guess everybody expected him -- or he had a chance to do three in a row, and that's the hardest one to win, you know? He kept to his strategy, and man, the guys put together a great car, man. And I think [crew chief] Bill [Scott] did an unbelievable job in calling the race, and Tyler did a good job."

Reddick faced some stiff competition from van Gisbergen, NASCAR's best road course artist. But Jordan was undaunted as he saw that iconic No. 45 pace the field in Austin.
"He beat some good competition. I mean, when you see SVG coming back there, you get a little nervous, but I think he had them covered pretty much the whole day," Jordan said.
