SASSA confirms March 2026 grant payment dates

The Social Security agency pays out Old Age, Disability and Children’s grants every month.

Here are the payment dates for each grant for March 2026:
- Old Age Grant- Tuesday, 3 March 2026
- Disability Grant- Wednesday, 4 March 2026
- Childrens’ Grant- Thursday, 5 March 2026
SASSA RE-OPENS JOHANNESBURG LOCAL OFFICE
SASSA has reopened its Johannesburg local office after it was temporarily closed in September 2025.
The office was closed to strengthen internal controls and enhance fraud prevention systems within the agency after five SASSA officials from the local office were dismissed after being implicated in fraud and corruption.
“The dismissal of five officials implicated in this matter sends a clear and unequivocal message that SASSA will not tolerate fraud or corruption in any form,” SASSA Chief Executive Officer Themba Matlou said.
Matlou added that any official found guilty of misconduct will face decisive consequences.
He said, “We remain committed to strengthening our systems to protect public resources and uphold the integrity of the Agency.”
The agency assures beneficiaries that all its services are free of charge and encourages members of the public to report any suspected fraud or corruption.
