The New England Patriots are doing their homework on several pass-rushers, including Jaelan Phillips, Boye Mafe, Odafe Oweh and Trey Hendrickson.
If you don't believe me, how about The Athletic's Chad Graff and MassLive's Karen Guregian and Mark Daniels?
Graff, Guregian and Daniels, across two separate reports that were published on Friday, tied the organization to Phillips, Mafe, Oweh and Hendrickson.
"They’re doing their homework on the top free-agent edge rushers, including Jaelan Phillips, Odafe Oweh and Boye Mafe," Graff wrote. "But even if they land one of those players at the top of the market, that doesn’t rule them out from selecting someone at the position early in the draft."
"Two names to watch are Jaelan Phillips and Trey Hendrickson. We’re told there are quite a few admirers inside Gillette Stadium of both players," Guregian and Daniels wrote. "... The Patriots have plenty of options to reinforce this depth chart. Other free agents include Boye Mafe, Odafe Oweh, and Khalil Mack."

Phillips, 26, is the one player who was named in both reports, as there was apparently interest in trading for him at last season's trade deadline before he was ultimately sent to the Philadelphia Eagles from the Miami Dolphins. If there was ever someone who made sense in this timeline, it's the former first-round pick who has always produced when healthy and is coming off his first full campaign in the last three seasons.
Hendrickson, 31, is the most proven commodity among those listed, having reached double-digit sacks in four of the last six seasons. Mafe and Oweh, 27, are projections, though they would come at a significantly smaller price.
It'll remain to be seen who actually fits the timeline, but the list of options seems to be coming into focus with free agency just two weeks away.
